Job Summary:

Provide high level of support for Director of Business Operations, Office Manager and others in the operations/facilities department.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare cash and credit card deposits; take deposits to bank

  • Count daily merchandise/concourse entertainment/parking receipts

  • Using accounting software to assist with various accounts payable/receivable tasks

  • Update financial spreadsheets to track specific revenue and expenses.

  • File invoices and checks

  • Assist with financial comparisons

  • Assist in the preparation of the stadium for each event – set up turnstiles, ATM’s, check restroom inventory, set up centerfield plaza

  • Assist in game operations throughout and postgame.  Supervising ticket takers, obtaining turnstile attendance, taking down turnstiles, plaza games , tables, etc.

  • Support Stadium Operations Manager with clubhouse operations and stadium rentals (i.e. IHSAA State Baseball Finals, charity walks, trade shows).

     

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist head groundskeeper with field maintenance - pulling tarp, clearing fireworks, etc.

  • Pocket Schedule distribution when schedules by Marketing Manager

  • Represent the Indians at various community outreach events

  • Box Office & front desk shifts in season, as assigned, on a rotating schedule

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in a college/university as a Junior or higher or obtained at Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

    Previous experience in a sports environment strongly preferred

    Skills & Abilities:

    Honesty/confidentiality and strong attention to detail & accuracy

    Accounting software knowledge ideal

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a stressful environment

    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Ingenuity to take on or create new projects

    Ability to lift 50 lbs.

    Ability to work up to 14 hours per day and up to 80 hours per week (in-season)

  •  Assist in daily aspects of the grounds operation
  •  Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to:
  •  Clay work including infield skin, mounds, homeplates, and warning track
  •  Turf work including fertilizer and pesticide application, mowing, and edging
  •  All cultural practices – mowing, aerification, irrigation, topdressing, slicing, deep tine, etc
  •  Basic equipment maintenance
  •  Irrigation scheduling and repair

  •  Tarp handling and weather situations

Minimum Qualifications:

Baseball field maintenance background is preferred but NOT required

Job Summary:

The Indianapolis Indians seek a candidate to assist its merchandise staff in the team’s daily operations, with an emphasis on branded team apparel. Those interested in a career in professional or collegiate athletics will gain experience and develop skills critical to beginning a career in sports merchandising. Applicants must have experience in customer service and work closely with others in the merchandise department on a daily basis for the duration of the Minor League Baseball season (April-September).

Responsibilities:

  • Co-manage the Hot Corner Gift Shop (open year round), Big League Shop (only open on game days) and Centerfield walk up stand and all game day employees in each location

  • Help train game day staff with techniques that promote excellent customer service skills

  • Assist with the ordering of new merchandise and visual display of merchandise in stores.

  • Process internet orders on a daily basis and maintain the online store in all operations.

  • Receive and inspect all new merchandise along with adding new product to our inventory system.

  • Assist in the preparation of all points of sale systems and maintain balance drawers at opening and closing shifts

  • Perform two inventory audits; one mid-season and one post-season.

  • Organize products in storage rooms and maintain cleanliness of storage rooms

  • Help execute retail promotions; Rowdie Valentine’s, STH Pick Up Party, National Hat Day, Jersey Auctions, etc

  • Maintain and restock of the Hot Corner Gift Shop on a daily basis

 

Other Duties:

  • Assist head groundskeeper with field maintenance - pulling tarp, clearing fireworks, etc.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in a college/university or obtained a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.  Previous experience in a sports environment and/or retail and customer service experience are strongly preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Assist the Indianapolis Indians Grounds Department by being responsible for repairing and maintaining the Victory Field playing surface as a safe, first class baseball field. Performing daily turf, dirt and water management; timely fertility and cultural practices; game preparation techniques and also assist in the short and long-term maintenance & budgeting. This position will play a vital role in home plate preparation, planning, and repair and also assist with scheduling and supervising our grounds staff.

Essential Functions:

  •  Assist in daily planning, supervising, & execution of the Indians Grounds Department
  •  Supervise, schedule, mentor and train a seasonal intern and part-time game day staff
  •  Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to:
  •  Clay work including infield skin, mounds, homeplates, and warning track
